Two favorite Hudson franchises will be coming to the WiiWare downloadable store later this year. Alien Crush, the futuristic pinball arcade game and Bomberman, both from the Turbo Grafx 16 era, will get 3D updates on the Wii. The games will not only feature bright new graphics, but they will include some pretty interesting gameplay features that have us excited to learn more. Read on for the details on each of the upcoming games.
Alien Crush Returns is a sci-fi pinball game based on the classic TurboGrafx-16 Alien Crush series. Basically a mixture of classic pinball mechanics with some updated arcade sensibilities, the series impressed twitch gamers back in the day for its unusual blending of genres and addictive gameplay. Like the original games, the Wii version will include new enemies, power-ups, bonus stages and other hidden surprises.

Another exciting bit of news is that Alien Crush Returns will feature online multiplayer. Players will be able to go online to compete against a friend to see who can get the higher score. In addition, the game will include online leader boards for score-obsessed pinball players.
Bomberman Blast is an all-new Bomberman title based on the popular party-game formula. It is an over-head view multiplayer party game with updated 3D characters and mazes. The game also incorporates new gameplay elements, including the use of Mii support and 8-person online multiplayer.
"The Bomberman franchise is one of Hudson Entertainment's most popular. We're driven by the support of the fans and strive to provide unique new gameplay features with each new Bomberman title to please the longtime fans, as well as make the game accessible to newcomers." Said a Hudson spokesperson.
Like Alien Crush, Bomberman Blast will also offer support for online multiplayer. Up to 8 players will be able to go head to head online, in teams or on their own. Players will also be able to use their Mii avatars in online competition.
