We have great news for fans of the classic platforming series. This week, Nintendo will release the original Mega Man on Virtual Console. The game can be accessed through the Wii Shop channel and purchased for 500 points. But beware, you might not be as quick or as skilled as you were twenty years ago, when Mega Man first debuted on the NES.
The game was, like many other retro platformers, notoriously tough. There was no saving, so you had to take on all of Wily's creations and the boss himself in one go. You also had to be very strategic about which levels you tackled first, since defeating one boss would give you a weapon necessary to take on the next one. Despite its intense difficulty, Mega Man remains a true classic and a worthwhile addition to any platforming fan's collection.

Official game description:
Join the blue bomber in his first-ever adventure as he battles the evil Dr. Wily and his robotic henchmen to restore peace to a troubled world. Mega Man is a super-robot created by the genius scientist Dr. Light. When Dr. Wily goes rogue with an army of six of his own devious robot masters, it's up to Mega Man to put a stop to his nefarious plot by traversing a series of stages rife with enemies, traps and perilous platform challenges. At the end of each stage, conquer one of the robot masters and claim his weapon as your own, using it to your advantage in subsequent fights.
